Special Education Teacher | Andover, Minnesota

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education professional supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a Setting 3 classroom. This full-time contract position spans the 2026-2027 school year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact while working with a manageable caseload of approximately 6-10 students. The assignment is based at a single site in the Andover, MN area, ensuring stability and a consistent working environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license with ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only)
• Previous experience working with students who have DCD or ASD, especially in a Setting 3 classroom, is highly valued
• Strong collaborative skills for working effectively with students, support staff, and families
• Ability to create individualized lesson plans and adapt instruction to diverse learning needs
• Excellent classroom management and organizational abilities

Role Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
• Develop supportive routines and implement positive behavior strategies
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate regularly with families and related service providers
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success

Position Details:

• Contract runs from August 31, 2026, to June 4, 2027
• Full-time schedule: 37.5 hours per week
