Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity shaping the educational experience of high school students as a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher. This position focuses on supporting learners with Learning Disabilities (LD) at the start of the upcoming academic year, running through Thanksgiving. Working full-time, Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, you’ll collaborate with dedicated educators to deliver impactful reading interventions, executive functioning support, and special education instructional services.

To excel in this role, the following background is desired:

  • Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License
  • Learning Disabilities (LD) licensure is highly preferred
  • Prior experience supporting high school students with special needs
  • Strong background providing reading interventions and executive functioning strategies
  • Proven ability to implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and deliver academic accommodations
  • Previous work in high school special education environments is a plus
  • Comfort integrating into established teams and adapting quickly
  • Experience supporting students with executive functioning deficits or with a reading intervention focus is valued

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver targeted instruction and interventions to high school students with LD, with a particular emphasis on reading
  • Support students’ executive functioning and organizational skill development
  • Coordinate and implement IEPs, including documentation and progress monitoring
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to promote student success
