Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a current Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
- Experience teaching children with developmental and cognitive delays preferred
- Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, staff, and specialists
- Commitment to supporting students’ growth academically, socially, and emotionally
- Positive, solutions-oriented attitude and adaptability
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and classroom support for elementary students in a DCD Centerbase program
- Develop and execute IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
- Foster a safe, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and parent-teacher conferences
- Employ evidence-based practices and materials to support student learning and independence
This contract runs from late August through early June and offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule (37.5 hours per week). You’ll have the rewarding chance to help shape young lives while advancing your own skills in a dynamic school community.
