Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). This full-time, school-year position focuses on providing high-quality instruction and support to a small caseload of students with developmental cognitive needs in an elementary school setting. Working onsite, you'll collaborate closely with students, families, and a dedicated educational team to foster growth, independence, and academic achievement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
  • Valid credentials must be included with resume for consideration
  • Experience or strong understanding of supporting students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities preferred
  • Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and compliance standards
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver tailored instructional plans for a caseload of approximately nine students with DCD
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet each student's unique learning needs and abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress towards IEP goals, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings, student support team discussions, and professional development sessions
  • Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth

Schedule Details: This contract position runs from late August 2026 through early June 2027. The work hours are roughly 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
