Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher providing essential support to elementary students in a dedicated Setting 3 classroom environment. This full-time role is focused on working with a caseload of approximately 6–10 students, primarily those with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You'll be shaping young lives while collaborating with a supportive educational team within a single building. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, offering you the chance to make a lasting impact throughout the academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license with an ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or Tier 4 only)
- Previous experience teaching or supporting children in EBD (Emotional Behavioral Disorders) Setting 3 clusters, particularly at the elementary level
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, structured, and nurturing learning environments
- Strong collaborative skills for working with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Proficient communication and documentation abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, adapt, and implement individualized educational programs in alignment with IEP goals for a Setting 3 classroom
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary staff to coordinate services and maximize student success
- Establish clear classroom expectations and effective behavior management systems
- Engage in regular communication with families to ensure alignment and support
