Special Education Teacher in Andover, MN

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid teaching license in Special Education for the state
• Experience working with early elementary-grade students, preferably kindergarten
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with diverse needs
• Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff members
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver targeted instruction to a caseload of 5-8 students in a center-based, setting III classroom
• Adapt teaching materials and methods to individual student needs and learning plans
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, including IEP documentation and data collection
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student development and progress
• Manage classroom routines to create a structured, supportive setting
