You’ll provide direct instruction and tailored interventions for students receiving most of their special education services in a small, specialized classroom setting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid teaching license in Special Education for the state
- Experience working with early elementary-grade students, preferably kindergarten
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with diverse needs
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff members
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver targeted instruction to a caseload of 5-8 students in a center-based, setting III classroom
- Adapt teaching materials and methods to individual student needs and learning plans
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records, including IEP documentation and data collection
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student development and progress
- Manage classroom routines to create a structured, supportive setting
