Special Education Teacher - Andover, MN

Qualifications:

• Valid state Special Education Teaching license or eligibility to obtain one
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction, behavioral intervention strategies, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families
• Previous school-based experience preferred

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver specialized instruction based on IEP goals for individual and small groups of students
• Adapt lessons and instructional materials to meet varying student abilities and learning styles
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff
• Maintain accurate documentation, including progress notes, IEPs, and required compliance records
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
• Provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Engage families in the educational process and student goal setting
