Step into a pivotal role supporting students across multiple sites within a dynamic school district near Andover, MN. Multiple full-time special education teaching opportunities are available for the 2026/2027 academic year. These openings span assessment, therapeutic, and center-based Autism programs, offering professionals the chance to foster positive growth in diverse student populations.

Current Openings Include:

  • Special Education Assessment Teacher: Conduct comprehensive evaluations district-wide, write professional reports, determine eligibility, and help orchestrate compliant IEPs. Experience with assessments, eligibility meetings, case management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is highly valued.
  • Special Education Teacher – Setting III/IV (Restore Program): Support high school students with significant behavioral and emotional needs within a therapeutic setting. Ideal background includes crisis prevention, trauma-informed practices, FBAs, BIPs, and experience in similar EBD-focused programs.
  • Elementary ASD Center-Based Teacher: Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to elementary students in a structured, supportive Autism Spectrum Disorder program. Strength in using visual/communication supports, behavior management strategies, and working within center-based special education is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver specially designed instruction tied to each student’s needs and goals
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date documentation and progress monitoring
  • Attend IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and related service providers
  • Apply effective classroom management and behavior intervention strategies
  • Adhere to IDEA, state, and district special education policies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education or related field
  • Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License or eligibility via reciprocity
  • Strong working knowledge of IEPs, case management, and special education compliance
  • Preferred licensure: ABS, ASD, EBD, DD, or LD
  • Skilled in PBIS, MTSS, assessments, and behavioral supports
