Step into a meaningful role supporting students in grades 9–12 as a Special Education Teacher. In this contracted, onsite position, you’ll work in a vibrant community school environment, actively collaborating with colleagues and engaging students who need a dedicated, adaptive educator. The position is set to begin on August 31, 2026, and runs through June 4, 2027. Your workday will be from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education license in EBD (Emotional/Behavioral Disorders), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), or ABS (Academic Behavior Support) in Minnesota.
- Experience working with at-risk high school students, especially those requiring behavior support.
- Demonstrated skills in collaboration with staff, parents, and the wider school community.
- Strong background in behavior intervention strategies.
- Ability to adapt to unique student needs within a high school setting.
- Willingness to pursue Out of Field Licensure Placement if not already certified.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in grades 9–12.
- Provide direct instruction and behavior interventions aligned with district and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and support staff to best meet student needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Engage in regular communication with families regarding student development.
