Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant elementary setting near Andover, MN. This role is dedicated to fostering academic and social success for up to 10 students, with the benefit of Paras and an Intervener on your team. Over the course of the school year, from September 1, 2026, through June 4, 2027, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of your students.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current, active Minnesota Special Education teaching license (PELSB/MDE) is required
  • Previous experience working in special education settings, with preference for those with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) teaching background
  • Tier 2 licensure or higher
  • Proven ability to collaborate with support staff and related services
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and growth-oriented classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction to students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Develop, implement, and assess educational plans tailored to varying learning needs
  • Work collaboratively with Paraprofessionals and the Intervener, ensuring personalized supports are consistently provided
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, behavior, and instructional modifications
  • Foster positive relationships with families and team members, communicating regularly about student goals and achievements
  • Contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary consultations

This role offers a standard weekly commitment of 37.5 to 40 hours, supporting a strong work-life balance throughout the academic year.
