Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a DCD Special Education Teacher for an elementary school setting III program supporting students in kindergarten and first grade. In this contract role, you’ll work closely with a small group of six students, providing individualized instruction and personal care to help each child reach their full potential.

This position begins as soon as possible and continues through June 7, 2027, offering a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00am–4:00pm.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Special Education Teacher licensure (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Experience or coursework related to significant developmental cognitive disabilities (DCD) preferred
  • Familiarity with elementary-aged children and specialized instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to provide personal care support, including assistance with toileting, eating, and use of communication devices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff
  • Patience, empathy, and dedication to fostering inclusive learning environments

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction in a small group setting, adapting materials and teaching methods to meet each student's unique needs
  • Assist students with personal care tasks throughout the school day, ensuring their health and dignity
  • Implement and monitor use of augmentative and alternative communication devices
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, support staff, therapists, and families to develop and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain clear records and progress reports on student development
