Special Education Teacher | Andover, Minnesota

Step into a full-time contract opportunity to make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher assisting students with Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD). This position is situated in a dynamic middle school environment and will require dedication, compassion, and expertise in supporting learners’ academic and social-emotional development within a setting II/III/center base framework.

Your primary focus will be delivering specialized instruction to students on your caseload, promoting their growth and success both in and out of the classroom. The assignment spans the academic year, aligned with standard school hours.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Active Minnesota Special Education Teacher license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD)
• Ability to maintain a positive and structured classroom environment
• Previous experience in a setting II/III/center base preferred
• Strong collaboration skills to coordinate with staff, parents, and support professionals
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and classroom management for students with EBD
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet diverse needs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related services staff, and administrators
• Foster an environment that encourages social, emotional, and behavioral growth
• Maintain timely records and necessary documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
