Special Education Teacher | Andover, Minnesota

This contract position offers the chance to engage deeply with students who have some of the most significant behavioral and developmental challenges, working closely within a Setting 4 environment.

Your role will be vital in fostering a supportive and structured setting, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and guiding students toward personal and academic growth. A full-time schedule (Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours weekly) ensures you’ll be an integral part of this center from late September through June.

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required)
• Demonstrated experience working with students with high behavioral needs and severe disabilities
• Strong skills in classroom management, communication, and individualized instruction
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, families, and support teams
• Enthusiasm for adapting strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized education plans for students in a Setting 4 program
• Foster a positive, safe, and consistent environment for students with complex needs
• Collect, document, and analyze student progress data to inform instructional decisions
• Collaborate with staff, therapists, and families to coordinate comprehensive care and support
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
