Make a difference in the lives of middle school students by providing essential instruction and support as a Special Education Teacher in a self-contained environment for those with moderate to severe needs. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to foster growth, learning, and social development in a close-knit educational community throughout the 2026-2027 school year.

Your ability to adapt, inspire, and use evidence-based educational methods will create positive and meaningful change for students requiring individualized education plans. As a valued team member, you’ll collaborate with other educators to ensure that each child receives the support they deserve in a nurturing and structured Special Day Class (SDC) environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching credential appropriate for middle school level
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Expertise in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with staff and families
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Previous experience in a self-contained special education setting preferred

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to middle school students in a moderate to severe SDC
  • Develop individualized academic and behavioral plans
  • Utilize differentiated instruction and assistive technology
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Foster a supportive, positive, and respectful classroom culture
  • Communicate regularly with parents, support staff, and administration
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and compliance activities
