Three Special Education Teachers are needed to fill important positions that serve elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Cognitive Impairment (CI) classrooms, as well as a resource room setting. By joining this dedicated team, you’ll help shape positive educational outcomes and ensure an inclusive, supportive learning experience for every child.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active Michigan CI or ASD Special Education teaching license required
- Previous experience working in ASD or CI settings strongly preferred
- Commitment to addressing diverse learning needs using individualized strategies
- Skill in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and communicating with caregivers
- Strong organizational and classroom management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement tailored lesson plans in accordance with IEPs for elementary ASD/CI and resource room caseloads
- Monitor student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and service providers to ensure comprehensive support for each student
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and social development
