Special Education Teacher in Anoka, MN

This contract opportunity is ideal for a passionate Early Childhood Special Education Teacher eager to guide students ages 3-5, providing intensive support in classroom routines and developmental play.

This position focuses on individualized instruction through the Playful Beginnings program, laying the groundwork for lifelong learning. You’ll take an active role in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), while assessing and observing students to ensure their needs are met. An essential part of your day will also involve collaborating with families, other educators, and service providers, forging connections that help every child reach their potential.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Early Childhood Special Education teaching license
• Experience working with young children with disabilities (ages 3-5) preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development, data tracking, and progress monitoring
• Skill in using positive behavioral interventions and social-emotional strategies
• Ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities

Your Role Will Include:

• Creating and updating IEPs for students, documenting progress toward goals
• Conducting developmental assessments and regular student observations
• Embedding intervention services into play-based routines
• Guiding and coaching support staff in classroom activities
• Promoting classroom engagement through evidence-based strategies
• Maintaining regular contact with families and service partners

You’ll work Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, with structured morning and afternoon class sessions.
