Step into a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a developmental and cognitive delay (DCD) center-based classroom. This full-time, onsite opportunity is set within a supportive school environment and focuses on providing individualized instruction and care for young learners who benefit from specialized educational services.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching certification (Tier 3 or 4) is required and must be attached alongside your resume during application
  • Proven experience working as a Special Education Teacher, particularly at the elementary level
  • In-depth knowledge of DCD best practices and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for partnering with staff and families
  • Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to elementary students with developmental and cognitive delays
  • Manage IEP processes, ensure compliance, and regularly monitor student progress
  • Adapt instructional strategies to meet varying student needs within the center-based model
  • Partner with classroom aides, therapists, and general education staff for holistic student support
  • Foster an encouraging and structured learning environment that supports both academic and social-emotional growth
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
