Multiple Special Education Teacher roles are available within various programs and settings, allowing you to utilize your expertise and collaborate with dedicated multidisciplinary teams throughout the district. Positions begin August 31, 2026, and run through the end of the 2026/2027 school year.
Current Openings Include:
- Special Education Assessment Teacher: Conduct student evaluations, participate in eligibility decisions, and work collaboratively to draft and implement compliant IEPs district-wide.
- Special Education Teacher – Setting III/IV (Restore Program): Support high school students with significant behavioral, emotional, and academic needs by providing individualized interventions in a therapeutic environment.
- ASD Center-Based Elementary Special Education Teacher: Deliver specialized instruction for elementary students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a structured, center-based program.
General Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver specially designed instruction based on student goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and conduct ongoing progress monitoring
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
- Implement effective behavioral supports and classroom management strategies
- Participate actively in team meetings and eligibility assessments
- Remain compliant with IDEA, Minnesota Special Education regulations, and district policies
- Cultivate welcoming, inclusive classroom environments that encourage growth and success
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (or reciprocity eligibility)
- Experience with IEP development and case management
- Familiarity with IDEA and special education requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in ASD, Assessment, Resource, or Setting III/IV roles
- Knowledge of PBIS, MTSS, FBAs, and BIPs
- Experience across elementary or secondary populations
- Background in behavior management and crisis intervention
