Special Education Teacher in Anoka, MN

Make a meaningful difference every day as a Special Education Teacher working with students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) in a collaborative, supportive elementary school environment. This contract role is ideal for educators passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential and flourish in an inclusive setting. The assignment is based at an elementary school, serving a manageable caseload of around nine students, providing focused, personalized instruction and support.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching Certification (Tier 3 or 4 required)
• Experience working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities is highly valued
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with students, staff, and families
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Dedication to creating a positive, accommodating classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of each student with DCD
• Assess, monitor, and document student progress, ensuring goals within IEPs are met
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and classroom happenings
• Adapt curriculum materials and teaching methods to support learning and classroom engagement
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities

This onsite role offers a steady weekday schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., totaling 37.5 hours weekly (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day). The assignment runs from late August 2026 to early June 2027, aligning with the academic calendar.
