Qualifications:
- Valid and current Special Education license; PELSB/MDE certification is required
- Tier 2 or higher credentialing is necessary
- Previous experience or strong interest in working with children on the autism spectrum (ASD), with preference for those specializing as ASD teachers
- Possess excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
- Capacity to cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom culture
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of up to 10 students, designing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each learner’s strengths and needs
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessional staff and an intervener to provide comprehensive academic and behavioral support
- Employ evidence-based instructional strategies to foster student progress
- Maintain regular contact with families and educational teams to ensure a seamless support system
- Monitor and document students’ progress, adapting intervention methods as needed
- Participate actively in meetings, professional development, and school activities
