Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Special Education license; PELSB/MDE certification is required
  • Tier 2 or higher credentialing is necessary
  • Previous experience or strong interest in working with children on the autism spectrum (ASD), with preference for those specializing as ASD teachers
  • Possess excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
  • Capacity to cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom culture

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of up to 10 students, designing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each learner’s strengths and needs
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessional staff and an intervener to provide comprehensive academic and behavioral support
  • Employ evidence-based instructional strategies to foster student progress
  • Maintain regular contact with families and educational teams to ensure a seamless support system
  • Monitor and document students’ progress, adapting intervention methods as needed
  • Participate actively in meetings, professional development, and school activities
