Special Education Teacher - Anoka, Minnesota

Make a positive impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students across two school sites near Anoka, MN. This contract opportunity focuses on developing and leading engaging gym activities for students with a range of abilities, split between a high school and an elementary school. Your work will directly support individualized education plans and help students thrive in a dynamic learning environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Current (or eligible) teaching license in Special Education
• Experience working within school settings, preferably in adaptive physical education or special education
• Strong understanding of due process requirements and IEP implementation
• Ability to organize, plan, and adapt lessons for diverse learners
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective team and parent communication

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and facilitate daily gym activities driven by each student’s IEP goals, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment
• Teach two back-to-back classes daily at one site, and provide classroom instruction two days weekly at the other
• Maintain and manage all due process paperwork accurately and promptly
• Collaborate closely with the district’s DAPE (Developmental Adapted Physical Education) team to support student needs
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families to encourage holistic development
