Special Education Teacher | Apopka, Florida

An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide essential support at the elementary level. In this contract position, you will cover a 12-week leave as an in-person ESE (Exceptional Student Education) teacher, starting in August. Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification for the appropriate grade level
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education (ESE) setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues
• Ability to adapt and modify curriculum and instructional approaches for individual learners
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver in-person instruction to elementary students in special education programs
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Work with general education teachers and staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are in place
• Assess and document student progress toward IEP goals
• Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging classroom atmosphere to help all students thrive
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development during the contract period
