Special Education Teachers are needed in the Chicago area to support students across grades K-12. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact, working with learners who have a variety of needs, including learning, emotional, and autistic support. Full-time hours are available, Monday through Friday, with assignments beginning as soon as possible and continuing through the end of the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement (K-22)
  • Minimum of one year prior experience developing and writing IEP goals
  • Background working with students in special education settings, particularly across K-12 age groups
  • Understanding of learning, emotional, and autistic spectrum disabilities
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to students with diverse needs in inclusive or self-contained settings
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting instructional methods as necessary
  • Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Work closely with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations and documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development

This full-time opportunity offers between 35-40 hours per week. Compensation for this position ranges from $37 to $55 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
