Special Education Teacher in Arlington Heights, IL

Make an impact by supporting student growth in a dynamic middle school special education setting. This contract role focuses on providing cross-categorical instruction to learners with diverse academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs. You’ll deliver instruction tailored to grade-level standards while ensuring individualized education plan (IEP) goals are met.

You’ll provide a comprehensive range of supports, from structured and visual teaching strategies to behavioral, social-emotional, and communication interventions. Classroom support includes a dedicated program aide, with additional 1:1 staffing as dictated by individual IEPs—enabling you to hone your collaborative skills while making true connections with students and specialists.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification (Illinois state requirements)
• Experience with cross-categorical programs preferred
• Working knowledge of academic, behavioral, and adaptive curriculum planning
• Comfort with IEP implementation and data-driven instruction
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction aligned to grade-level standards and IEPs
