Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an instructional leader promoting best practices in special education.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal and state special education laws and coordinate procedures.
  • Facilitate and support Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.
  • Collaborate with building administrators, instructional coaches, and district leadership to enhance services for students with disabilities.
  • Coach and mentor special education staff, offering actionable feedback and professional development opportunities.
  • Help shape and expand inclusive education practices throughout the district.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a special education endorsement.
  • Certified as a Special Education Teacher in Illinois.
  • At least three years of experience teaching in special education.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
