Special Education Teacher in Arlington Heights, IL

Make an immediate impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher working with early education, elementary, and middle school learners. This full-time, contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and extends through May 28, 2027, serving K-8th grade students for 32.5 hours per week. The role requires working in resource and self-contained classroom settings, supporting diverse learners in their academic and developmental growth.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Illinois Special Education Teacher Certification and valid Professional Educator License (PEL) are required
• Experience supporting special education needs in early childhood, elementary, or middle school environments
• Strong classroom management, differentiated instruction, and communication skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
• Flexibility to adapt instruction and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Provide targeted instruction in both resource and self-contained settings
• Track student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate effectively with parents and staff
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and social-emotional growth
• Collaboratively plan lessons and interventions with general education teachers and related service providers
