Make a significant difference in students’ lives as a dedicated professional supporting elementary-aged learners in a dynamic school environment near Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with young children in grades K-4, providing vital academic and social/emotional guidance.

You’ll serve as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive, resource model—balancing both pull-out direct instruction and push-in classroom support. Your caseload will consist of 8-10 students, all benefiting from your expertise as they work toward their academic and social goals.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate LBS1 endorsement.
• If holding a comparable out-of-state license, refer to the ISBE Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) for guidance on transferring credentials.
• Experience working with students in a resource setting providing both academic and social/emotional support.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and support staff.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction for K-4 students within a resource model, blending pull-out and push-in services.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
• Collaborate regularly with general educators and related service providers.
• Provide academic interventions, behavioral support, and progress monitoring.
• Establish supportive and structured classroom routines.
• Maintain communication with parents and contribute to IEP meetings.

This onsite-only role provides a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, 35 hours per week, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks each day. The contract runs from ASAP until early June 2027, offering a stable and rewarding long-term commitment.
