Shape young lives as a dedicated Special Education Teacher within a dynamic middle school environment near Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for educators passionate about inclusive learning and helping students flourish, especially those in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. There are two openings: one focusing on self-contained classrooms serving grade behavior students and another supporting 7th grade students in a resource setting. Each classroom maintains a small group of nine students, ensuring individualized attention and an engaging, supportive atmosphere.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification required
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students, preferably in self-contained or resource settings
  • Strong background supporting students with behavioral and academic needs
  • Ability to collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and other educators
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lessons and interventions tailored to students’ IEP goals
  • Create a nurturing and structured learning environment for grade behavior students
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals in both self-contained and resource rooms
  • Track academic progress and behavioral data for continuous student growth
  • Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and fellow educators
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture

Details:

  • Contract position; full-time hours from 7:50 AM to 3:10 PM
  • Two openings: self-contained classroom (6th-8th grade) and 7th grade resource teacher
  • Co-teaching model with para support in the classroom
  • Manage and instruct a small group of nine students per classroom
