Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold current Special Education certification (SPED), preferably EC-12
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with best practices for diverse learners and instructional adaptations
  • Passion for working with students of various ages and backgrounds

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to meet the unique learning needs of students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
  • Write, review, and update IEPs and maintain accurate documentation
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with families and participate in IEP meetings
  • Assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Guide and mentor para-professionals or assistants when appropriate
