Positions include:

  • Elementary Autism Classroom (K-5): Work with up to 6 students in a self-contained environment, designing individualized instruction and interventions tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Middle School Therapeutic Kids Classroom (Grades 6-8): Support up to 10 students, many of whom have experienced trauma, fostering growth and resilience in a self-contained setting.
  • High School Therapeutic Kids Classroom (Grades 9-12): Guide a maximum of 12 students with trauma backgrounds, equipping them with skills necessary for ongoing success in a nurturing, self-contained class.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid credentials as a Special Education Teacher.
  • Demonstrated experience with children who have autism or trauma-related backgrounds.
  • Deep understanding of specialized instructional strategies and classroom management.
  • Compassionate communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments where every student can achieve.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Adapt curriculum and instruction for varying ability levels.
  • Create a structured, safe classroom climate that encourages learning and emotional growth.
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate with staff to provide holistic support.
  • Effectively document interventions and outcomes.
