Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

Seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for supporting students to serve in a Special Education Resource role at the middle school level. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide vital support to a diverse student population in a dynamic academic environment. Located within a welcoming school community, you’ll collaborate with fellow educators to foster individualized learning plans and empower students with unique needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active CDE license or documentation from CDE’s COOL system (required for interview; must be attached with application)
• Minimum of one year of classroom teaching experience in special education
• Resourceful, adaptive, and able to work collaboratively as part of a flexible team
• Commitment to upholding best practices and compliance within individualized education program (IEP) processes
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and specialized support to students with learning differences within a resource classroom setting
• Develop, implement, and track IEPs and progress monitoring data
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related services staff, and families to promote student achievement
• Offer advocacy and guidance for students, helping them thrive socially and academically
• Maintain accurate records and participate in all required meetings, trainings, and staff collaborations

This is a full-time, school-year position, providing 35 paid hours per week (with additional unpaid lunch time built in).
