Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a full-time Special Education Teacher for the upcoming academic year in the Denver area. This contract position invites educators passionate about fostering growth and success in K-5 students. You’ll work onsite in a structured, supportive elementary school environment, specialize as a math instructor, and serve as case manager for a group of approximately 10 students—while engaging with a total classroom of 20. Strong leadership is essential as you’ll guide and collaborate closely with 3-4 paraprofessionals daily.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid teaching credentials and authorization to work as a Special Education Teacher
- A high school diploma is required; a college degree is strongly preferred
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children, ideally in a special education setting
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement specialized math instruction plans
- Strong organizational and communication skills, particularly for managing case files and collaborating with district staff
- Comfortable leading paraprofessionals and fostering a team-centric classroom atmosphere
- Must complete a district background check upon offer acceptance
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct math instruction and differentiated support to K-5 students on your caseload
- Manage case documentation and coordinate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Lead, support, and mentor classroom paraprofessionals
- Engage in collaboration with district and school teams, including participation in panel interviews (3-10 district employees expected)
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
This contract opportunity offers a consistent Monday to Friday schedule (37.5 hours weekly), with the assurance of one dedicated school placement for the entirety of the academic year.
