Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting Affective Needs students at the elementary level. This position is based in the vibrant North Denver area and offers the chance to make a significant difference in a school’s student-focused environment.

You’ll be working on-site with a single school assignment, providing consistency and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff. The assignment is full-time—37.5 hours per week—starting as soon as possible and running through early October. You’ll collaborate with educators and specialists dedicated to nurturing the academic, emotional, and social growth of every student.

Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Colorado Teaching License with a Special Education Generalist endorsement, valid for ages 5-21
  • Experience with Affective Needs programs or working with students with emotional/behavioral disorders is strongly preferred
  • Ability to complete a time-sensitive district contractor packet promptly
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ affective needs
  • Deliver instruction and support in both academic and behavioral domains
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment focused on student strengths and growth
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
  • Maintain thorough records and documentation in line with school and district requirements
