Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

This contract opportunity calls for a compassionate and creative teacher to work onsite with students aged 18 to 21, providing instruction in both classroom and community settings. Key Qualifications:

• Current or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license (must provide valid documentation with application)
• At least one year of classroom experience, preferably in special education settings
• Ability to be a flexible, collaborative team member
• Strong organizational skills, especially in data tracking and documentation
• Experience or interest in working with young adults and developing practical, real-world curricula

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction in job readiness and independent living skills to a caseload of 12 students within a supportive transitions program
• Teach both in the classroom and accompanying students in community settings
• Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
• Collect and maintain data on student progress, meeting all program and legal requirements
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, and local partners to maximize student outcomes
• Commit to onsite hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, adhering to full-time expectations
