Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

Step into a rewarding role supporting students with special needs in a collaborative school setting near Arvada, CO. Two outstanding contract opportunities are open for experienced Special Education professionals—one at Jewell Elementary (focusing on an Autism Spectrum Disorder [ASD] classroom), and another at Vista Peak Exploratory (P-8) as a Primary Autism Teacher. Both positions are full-time (37.5 hours per week), running from ASAP through May 27, 2027, and are on-site.

At Jewell Elementary, you’ll lead an ASD classroom for 10 students (primarily 1st–5th graders) and partner with seasoned paraprofessionals eager to learn and grow. In addition to teaching responsibilities, you’ll provide essential support—including diapering, physical assistance, and co-regulation—to ensure a safe, consistent, and engaging environment for youth with ASD. This is an opportunity to restore stability and mentorship after a period of classroom transition.

Vista Peak Exploratory seeks a compassionate, knowledgeable Primary Autism Teacher to join their multidisciplinary team. You’ll have the chance to make a tangible difference for students and support school-wide special education initiatives.

Ideal candidates will bring:

• Active Colorado DOE Teacher License with Special Education Generalist Endorsement (Ages 5–21) or BCBA credentials
• Experience working in ASD or special education settings (elementary or P–8 preferred)
• Strong skills in behavior intervention, co-regulation, and adaptive support
• A collaborative, coaching approach, and desire to mentor paraprofessional staff
• Ability to meet district credentialing requirements (background check and fingerprints)
