Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support young learners in an early childhood school setting located in Auburn, CA. This full-time contract role begins in January 2026 and runs through the end of the school year, focusing on providing specialized instruction in a Self-Contained Classroom (SDC) environment for preschool students with special needs.
In this role, you will work with a preschool caseload of 11 students divided into half-day morning and afternoon sessions. The classroom is supported by two paraeducators, allowing for individual attention and tailored teaching strategies. While students attend sessions Monday through Thursday, Fridays are reserved for in-person planning, providing valuable time for lesson preparation and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction tailored to the needs of preschool students in a Self-Contained Classroom.
- Collaborate closely with paraeducators to ensure individualized support and effective classroom management.
- Utilize your expertise in Early Childhood Special Education to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Participate in ongoing planning and professional development activities.
- Maintain regular communication with families and school staff to support student growth and progress.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential with Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Authorization is required.
- Experience working with preschool-aged students with special needs in an educational setting.
- Strong skills in managing SDC classrooms and collaborating with support staff.
- Commitment to in-person teaching and planning participation.
