Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students with diverse needs as a full-time Special Education Teacher. This onsite contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support for students in grades K-6, particularly those requiring Applied Skills and those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role runs from now through the end of the school year, with the potential for extension over summer or next school year.
Your expertise will play a crucial role in fostering student achievement and growth within a collaborative environment at an elementary school near the Auburn, IN area.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching license in Special Education (Mild or Intense Intervention credential required)
- Skilled in providing instruction to students with ASD and Applied Skills needs
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs and individualized classroom strategies
- Experience in elementary (K-6th grade) educational settings preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction in alignment with students' IEP goals
- Develop lesson plans tailored to varying academic and social-emotional needs
- Collaborate with school staff, therapy teams, and families to support holistic student development
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional approaches as needed
- Foster an inclusive, structured classroom environment that encourages learning and growth
Position Details & Perks:
