Special Education Teacher - Auburn, Maine

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification issued by the state of Maine
• Experience working with students with behavioral needs preferred

• Strong classroom management skills across upper elementary and middle school grades

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction based on IEP goals, aligned with individual student needs
• Develop and modify lesson plans for students in grades 5–8 within a behavior classroom
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, therapists, and families
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Implement behavioral strategies and supports to encourage positive student outcomes
• Create an inclusive, respectful classroom climate
