This full-time, onsite position (37.5 hours per week) is ideal for an experienced special education professional ready for a new challenge. Key Qualifications:
- Active Washington SPED license and ESA certificate (verification required at the time of application)
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in special education, preferably within school settings
- Demonstrated expertise with transition-age students (ages 18-22) and preparing them for greater independence
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) targeting life skills and vocational training for transition-age students
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment, encouraging student confidence and independence
- Collaborate with families, related services, and other educators to design meaningful transition experiences
- Assess student progress, provide targeted interventions, and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and district requirements
