Desired qualifications:

• Valid WA Special Education Teaching license and ESA certificate (verification required)
• Minimum 5 years of special education teaching experience—mid-career professionals only
• Documented success in transition (18-22) classrooms highly preferred
• Background in school-based settings is strongly desired
• Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptive teaching skills

Primary responsibilities:

• Lead instruction in a transition classroom for young adults aged 18-22
• Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized learning goals and transition objectives
• Work closely with families, support staff, and related service providers to facilitate student progress toward independent living, vocational, and social outcomes
• Collect and analyze data to inform teaching strategies and report on student progress
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as BIE adjudication processes
