Position overview
Soliant Education is seeking an experienced Adult Transition Special Education Teacher for an onsite contract position in Auburn, WA, for the 2026–2027 school year. This education industry opportunity supports students ages 18–22 in a transition-focused classroom designed to prepare young adults for greater independence, employment, and life after high school. The ideal candidate will bring several years of school-based special education experience and a strong understanding of transition services.

Schedule and compensation
This is a full-time position consisting of 37.5 hours per week during the 2026–2027 school year. The pay range is $45–$55 per hour, with the final rate based on qualifications and relevant professional experience. This is an onsite-only assignment in Auburn, Washington.

Classroom and caseload
The teacher will work with young adults between the ages of 18 and 22 in a specialized transition classroom. Instruction will focus on individualized goals and practical skills that support students as they move toward postsecondary education, vocational opportunities, community participation, and increased independence. The position requires a collaborative educator who can adapt instruction to varied abilities and help learners make meaningful progress toward their transition plans.

Responsibilities
The selected educator will develop and deliver specialized instruction aligned with student needs, individualized education programs, and transition objectives. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, maintaining appropriate documentation, collaborating with families and school-based professionals, and implementing effective classroom strategies. The teacher will also support functional, vocational, social, and independent-living skills appropriate to each student's goals.

Requirements
Applicants must hold a valid Washington Special Education (SPED) license and ESA certificate appropriate for the assignment. Previous school-based experience is required, with a minimum of five years of experience in an educational setting preferred for consideration. Candidates should have demonstrated experience providing special education services and working with students who require individualized academic, behavioral, functional, or transition support.

This opportunity is intended for an experienced special education professional rather than an entry-level educator. Candidates should have several years of successful experience working in schools and be comfortable managing the responsibilities associated with a transition-age population. Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and classroom management skills are important for success in this role.
