Special Education Teacher | Augusta, Georgia

In this contract opportunity, you’ll provide invaluable support as an IRR (Interrelated Resource) Special Education Teacher, working onsite with a caseload of 15–18 students throughout the academic year. This full-time position is based in a dynamic, supportive school environment near Augusta, GA, with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, 40 hours per week, running ASAP through May 2027.

Your background should include hands-on experience delivering specialized instruction, partnering with general education colleagues, and upholding the highest standards in IEP implementation and classroom management. A commitment to documentation and communication is essential, as you’ll be a key advocate for student progress and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Active GaPSC Certification/Georgia General SPED Certification (or equivalent) required
• Proven experience in school-based special education settings
• Strong record of collaboration with instructional staff and effective classroom management
• Full-time, onsite availability and reliable transportation
• Comfortable working with a caseload of 15–18 students grades 6–8

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction and interventions tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to implement and monitor IEPs
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and progress tracking
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere while employing effective behavior management techniques
• Regularly communicate with families and staff to ensure student success
