Step into a rewarding education role supporting students with significant disabilities in an inclusive, collaborative school environment near Augusta, KS. Two full-time contract opportunities are available: one serving elementary-level students and the other with a secondary caseload—each at approximately 10 students. These hands-on positions allow you to build impactful relationships and provide tailored interventions that make a measurable difference for learners with low-incidence needs. The assignment runs from August 11, 2026, through May 19, 2027.

Qualifications:

  • Valid low-incidence special education teaching license (must be current and submitted with your application)
  • Experience or strong interest in working with students with significant and mixed ability disabilities
  • Familiarity with evidence-based strategies for individualized instruction and behavioral support
  • Ability to adapt curriculum to meet a diverse range of student needs
  • Skilled at collaborating with related services, paraprofessionals, and families
  • Commitment to in-person, on-site instruction (no virtual option)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 10 students, designing individualized education plans (IEPs) targeting academic, functional, and behavioral growth
  • Provide direct, differentiated instruction aligned with each student’s goals
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive support
  • Monitor and document student progress using data-driven practices
  • Communicate regularly with families and colleagues to support student outcomes
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal education requirements
