A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Aurora, CO, within a resource classroom setting at a high school. This contract role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, starting immediately and continuing through May 22, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education License with a Generalist Endorsement (5-21)
- Professional Teacher License reflecting Special Education Generalist endorsement (license number format: #000000)
- Applicants holding only substitute, temporary, interim, or traveler licenses will not be considered unless they have applied for the correct SPED license with proof
- In-depth knowledge of teaching methods, instructional practices, and strategies tailored to Special Designed Instruction
- Comprehensive understanding of the IEP process and experience collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary IEP teams
- Ability to support students working on alternative standards
- This role is not open to virtual or hybrid arrangements
Responsibilities:
- Deliver Special Education instruction within the resource classroom model
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Collaborate closely with educational professionals, families, and support staff to ensure individual student success
- Employ effective instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs and comply with regulatory requirements
