This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher role within a smaller, welcoming district in the northern suburbs of Denver, Colorado. The position is full-time (37.5 hours/week) based at a center-based special education setting serving students from kindergarten through third grade. The classroom supports approximately 10 students with moderate to severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in an ASD-specific classroom, with two paraeducators assisting to ensure a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the case manager for students in the moderate to severe ASD program.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate closely with paraeducators, therapists, and families to provide comprehensive support.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring.
- Participate in all required trainings, including CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), provided as part of onboarding.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching credentials in Special Education; candidates actively working toward obtaining their CDE are encouraged to apply.
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with moderate to severe ASD.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams to create inclusive and supportive classroom environments.
- Openness to both new graduates and tenured educators.
- Willingness to undergo a two-step interview process, including an initial video screening and a panel interview.
Additional Information:
- The district is located in the northern suburbs of Denver and serves approximately 7,000 students across 16 sites.
