Qualifications:
- Valid CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Special Education Teacher license
- Prior experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Strong understanding of educational strategies for mild/moderate special needs or SSN populations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support to high school students within mild/moderate caseloads or the SSN program at Sheridan High School
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to accommodate students’ unique learning styles and abilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate records and progress notes to inform instructional decisions and meet compliance standards
- Communicate proactively with parents, guardians, and other education professionals on student progress and needs
- Cultivate positive relationships and promote self-advocacy and independence among students
