Qualifications:

  • Valid CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Special Education Teacher license
  • Prior experience working with high school-aged students preferred
  • Strong understanding of educational strategies for mild/moderate special needs or SSN populations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for partnering with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and support to high school students within mild/moderate caseloads or the SSN program at Sheridan High School
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to accommodate students’ unique learning styles and abilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate records and progress notes to inform instructional decisions and meet compliance standards
  • Communicate proactively with parents, guardians, and other education professionals on student progress and needs
  • Cultivate positive relationships and promote self-advocacy and independence among students
