Special Education Teacher - Aurora, CO

Exciting opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers passionate about making a difference in middle school student lives. Positions are open for both full-time and part-time candidates at two middle schools near Aurora, CO. Roles are contract-based, with options including coverage for a mild-moderate caseload or supporting students with significant cognitive and communicative needs (SSN). Candidates should specify their preferred opening when applying.

Qualifications:

• Active Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (Ages 5-21) Endorsement
• Experience working in special education settings, preferably with students in grades 6–8
• Familiarity with mild-moderate and/or significant support needs (SSN) instructional strategies
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual IEP goals
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with faculty, families, and support staff
• Timely completion of fingerprinting and other district credentialing processes
• References must be ready for review prior to school interview consideration

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and small group instruction tailored to assigned student caseloads
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and inclusion
• Foster a positive classroom environment sensitive to diverse student needs
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with state and school requirements
• Communicate student progress and strategies with families and stakeholders
• Participate in staff meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development as required
