About the Position
Soliant Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join a supportive school district in Aurora, Colorado. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic, social, and behavioral success through individualized instruction and collaboration with educational teams.
This is a contract position offering competitive compensation, benefits eligibility, and dedicated support from a Soliant recruiter throughout the assignment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
Provide direct instruction and specialized academic support to students with disabilities.
Modify curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, including IEP goals, progress reports, and assessment data.
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
Implement behavior intervention plans and utilize positive behavior support strategies.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Conduct ongoing assessments and utilize data-driven decision-making to guide instruction.
Comply with all district, state, and federal special education regulations and procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
Active Colorado Special Education Teaching License or ability to obtain licensure before start date.
Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
Knowledge of IDEA, FAPE, and special education compliance requirements.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred
Master's Degree in Special Education or related field.
Previous school-based teaching experience.
Experience working with students across various disability categories, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Emotional Disabilities
Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
Intellectual Disabilities
Other Health Impairments (OHI)
