Special Education Teacher - Aurora, Illinois

Step into a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students in a resource or co-taught setting. This contract opportunity is available from August 17th through May 28th, with a standard work week of 37.5 hours. Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (state-eligible or current)
• Experience with middle school learners preferred
• Comfort working in resource and co-taught classrooms
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to individualize instruction, adapt to different learning needs, and implement IEPs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with varying needs in resource or co-taught classrooms
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), tracking goals, progress, and accommodations
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure student success
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
• Maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student progress and strategies
• Complete required documentation and participate in meetings as necessary
• Flexibly support students with or without the assistance of paraprofessionals or teaching assistants
