You’ll work closely with small caseloads, allowing you to build strong relationships and tailor instruction to each student’s needs. Collaborate with classroom teams, including paraprofessionals, and foster a supportive environment for learners facing a variety of challenges, including high-incidence disabilities. Some roles may involve assistance with toileting as needed and managing a range of classroom behaviors, ensuring all students can thrive in their educational journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (required)
- Experience in special education, inclusive and/or structured classroom settings preferred
- Confidence in managing classroom behaviors and supporting students’ personal care needs if required
- Commitment to individualized, student-centered instruction
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction in collaboration with general educators and support staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum to meet varying academic and behavioral needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Document progress and adjust strategies as needed
