This contract opportunity near Austin, TX, is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher who thrives in a collaborative environment and values holistic student growth. You'll be part of a highly skilled teaching staff, working Monday through Friday from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM.

You'll be responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 20 students, developing and implementing individualized plans focused on transition and graduation. These elements are crucial for your students' success and require a proactive, detail-oriented, and communicative educator. Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) experience is essential, as you'll regularly participate in meetings to advocate for and shape the student experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Texas Educator License with Special Education and Core/Generalist Endorsements
  • Strong Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meeting experience
  • Proven ability to work with high school students in a special education setting
  • Skilled at navigating graduation requirements and transition planning
  • Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance (no visible tattoos, single-color hair, limited piercings, and adherence to dress code)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a caseload of around 20 high school students in need of special education services
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs), focusing on transition and graduation outcomes
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Participate and contribute actively to ARD meetings
